Work a flexible part time role, which is likely to include regular evening work. Preparation of lesson plans and following and/or creating lesson plans, which may include, but not limited to, technical dance training, choreography, scripted work, songs, etc. Delivery of lessons to a high standard in required disciplines, to classes containing a broad range of ages (2 years to adults) Involvement in internal and external events and activities, which include examinations, after school clubs, competitions, shows and performances. Management and nurturing of Classroom Assistants, ensuring that all Cast Academy policies relating to health & safety and child protection are adhered to. When not teaching, the role is likely to incorporate customer-facing and administrative duties relating to the daily operations of Cast Academy which may include:
Serving customers and answering their queries.
A professional teaching qualification, primarily in dance (preferably to Associate level with the International Dance Teachers’ Association), although other qualifications will be considered. Ideally with teaching experience in the following: Ballet, Tap,and street dance.
DBS check is essential.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with a fun personality. Able to follow lesson plans, but can also express creativity and improvise when required. Thorough, organised, able to work under pressure and use initiative.
