As a Director, Singer, Actor, and Vocal Coach, Matthew’s journey is a testament to his passion and dedication to the theatrical world.Born and raised in Rotherham, Matthew’s artistic journey began with a fervent pursuit of acting. He honed his skills at university in Sheffield, where he graduated with First Class Honors in Performance for Stage and Screen. During his time there, Matthew not only delved into the intricacies of acting but also explored directing and performance-making.After a brief stint as a primary school teacher, Matthew ventured into the realm of freelance performing arts coaching, directing, headshot photography, and graphics design for various performing arts companies in 2023. His professional expertise as a director has been recognised by prominent institutions such as NODA; working with companies such as Early Fest, and the Worksop Light Operatic Society, where he contributed his creative vision to successful productions. Matthew’s leadership skills and artistic sensibilities led him to assume the role of Director at the esteemed Dearne Musical Theatre Company.In addition to his prowess behind the scenes, Matthew is a dedicated vocal coach, lending his expertise to aspiring talents at Cast Academy, Take 2 Academy, and through his own private students. Beyond his theatrical endeavors, Matthew serves as a Senior Carer for Adults with Learning Difficulties, demonstrating his compassion and commitment to making a positive impact in the community.
