Amy and Becky are the cofounders of Cast Academy and have worked together for 15 years teaching and mentoring hundreds of students. Despite having entered the performing arts world through different routes, with a shared vision they have brought together their passion and experience in their respective fields to create an academy that provides outstanding training in all areas of the industry. Together they have over 30 years teaching experience and take great pride in providing a tailored and personalised learning experience for each individual student. Amy and Becky maintain a hands-on approach in teaching and work in collaboration with their carefully selected high caliber teaching team to ensure the Cast Academy vision is achieved.

Hollie Glossop

Dance Teacher

Hollie started dancing at the young age of 2 and hasn’t stopped since. After completing her A levels, Hollie trained at Performers College in Essex for three years, graduating with a National Diploma in Musical And Dance Theatre.
Hollie was lucky enough to secure jobs that combine two of her favourite things; dance and travel. She was involved with various showgirl companies, performing in corporate gigs all around the UK and Europe. Hollie then went on to work in Malta for six months as Dance Captain in two hotels. On her return, Hollie secured her favourite job, working on the cruise ships for four years. Her final cruise contract was as the Dance Captain for an around the world voyage.

Hollie has been teaching at Cast Academy since September 2019 and is loving every minute of it!

Nicole Garnett

Dance & Drama Teacher

Nicole has been performing since a young age and spent many years training with Cast Academy. Whilst studying a BA (Hons) in Drama at Huddersfield University, Nicole was part of a theatre ensemble group specialising in physical theatre. They performed multiple original devised works at the Buxton Fringe Festival, where they achieved the award for best dance piece. After university, Nicole successfully auditioned and became a member of the National Youth Theatre, where she had the opportunity to develop her knowledge alongside industry professionals in London. Nicole has a variety of performing experience in theatre, TV and film and is very excited to be able to pass on her knowledge to help students develop, achieve their goals and encourage the same passion she has for performing.

Gary Jackman Thomas

Dance Teacher

Gary Jackman Thomas trained as a dancer at the Northern ballet school in Manchester, after graduating Gary worked on board Celebrity, Carnival and CTC cruise lines, as dance captain in casino’s throughout Europe, Swing and Understudy in Roman Polanski’s “Tanz der vampire” in Stuttgart and several world tours with Patrick Marques “Paris Can Can” as company manager.

His choreography credits includes Celebrity cruises “Remix” , Solid silver skates, Kyllini beach resort “4 Elements” , Casino Solverde “Dance Fever” , Ghost, Starlight Express, Grease and Chicago.

Gary has found his home at Cast Academy

Jessica Nelmes

Dance Teacher

Having pursued dancing, singing, and acting from a young age, Jess has gained multiple IDTA awards also completing her A-Levels in Music and Drama, earning Distinction grades in both subjects. Her professional experience includes participating in many pantomimes as part of the junior ensemble.Jess began her competitive journey at the age of 12, which significantly contributed to her growing confidence and stage presence. From the age of 13, she started assisting her dance teacher, cultivating a profound passion for teaching. Her goal is to nurture and inspire the next generation, fostering growth both as performers and as young individuals.Jess eagerly anticipates the opportunities and experiences that will unfold with Cast Academy.

 

Matt Roddis

Singing Teacher

Matt Roddis is a professional actor, singer, and director, known for his captivating performances on stage and screen. With a first-class honours degree in Performance for Stage and Screen, Matt has honed his craft and developed a versatile and dynamic approach to the arts.
Alongside his artistic endeavors, Matt has dedicated the past seven years to teaching and mentoring aspiring performers. With a PGCE and Teaching Apprenticeship, he has created a nurturing and empowering environment for his students, inspiring them to reach their full potential.
Driven by a genuine passion for the performing arts, Matt constantly seeks to expand his knowledge and stay up to date with the latest techniques and trends. His commitment to ongoing learning ensures that he consistently delivers fresh and impactful experiences to both his audience and students.
